Who Are We?

At Academy of Dance, we are dedicated to fostering a positive, encouraging environment where students can expand their dance experience and showcase their talents on national, regional, and international stages with our Competition Troupes. Our mission is to create a supportive team atmosphere that promotes discipline, creativity, and individual style, while emphasising respect, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

What Troupes Do We Offer?

We have 5 competition teams currently:

- Mini Jazz Troupe (ages 7 & Under)
- Junior Jazz Troupe (ages 10 & Under)
- Intermediate Jazz Troupe (ages 12 & Under)
- Senior Jazz Troupe (ages 18 & Under)
- Senior Contemporary Troupe (ages 18 & Under)

How Can I Join?

Every year, usually around September, we hold auditions for both AOD and non-AOD students to audition for our competition teams to join for the full following year. The audition process assesses musicality, performance, flexibility, strength, technique, and learning ability. Selected dancers are offered placements based on these criteria.

Our audition info will be posted on our social media and sent out via email - sign up to Class Manager to make sure you don’t miss out on receiving this. We recommend joining our summer competition preparation classes if you are interested in auditioning!

Our Goals

We aim to prepare our dancers not only to compete but to do so with dignity, respect, and pride. Our goal is to develop resilient, confident performers who embrace challenges and celebrate successes, both big and small, on stage. We look forward to another exciting year of growth, performance, and fun with our talented competition teams!
